City Ballet of Cleveland Audition Notice

WHO IS ELIGIBLE: Serious ballet dancers ages 10-21 by September 2019
The City Ballet of Cleveland mission is to be a ballet company of the highest caliber serving Northeast Ohio through performances and education. The long-term vision is to build the leading ballet company in Northeast Ohio.
Annual performances include:
- December Uniquely Cleveland Nutcracker
- School performances
- May Spring Concerts
- All Ohio Dance Festival and more
Audition is required to become a member for the current Season. If one cannot attend the audition a video is acceptable. Contact the Company for additional information.
The audition class will be taught by the Artistic & Executive Director, Courtney J. Laves-Mearini. E. John Busser Scholarship audition held during the class.
Please complete an application form with $25 audition fee to the Director one week prior to the audition in person or by mail, April 10. The $25 will be applied to participation fee. Applications received after April 10 should have $35 application fee, only $25 will be applied to participation fee.
All outside dancers must be a minimum of 10 years old by September 2019; be currently studying ballet and jazz.

New Thursday Classes
Cleveland City Dance Welcomes Silver Swans®
(Cleveland, OH) – Cleveland City Dance is thrilled to announce that one of our teachers, Bridget Biliunas, has recently completed her Silver Swans® training through the Royal Academy of Dance and is now the ONLY person in Ohio to be teaching this unique method of ballet training. “Silver Swans® classes have been specifically designed for the over-55s, but whatever your age, if you are looking for a new way to keep fit and active our ballet classes will put a spring in your step. Whether you’ve never danced before or want to get back into the swing of dancing your heart out, our classes have something for everyone. The RAD developed this program based on research into dance practice for older learners — classes are only taught by Silver Swans licensees’
Royal Academy of Dance.

Mrs. Biliunas is pleased to offer a special 6-week session to introduce you to this class. The class will run Mondays and Wednesdays 10:00 am – 11:00 am from April 16- May 21, 2018. There is a weekly one class option also. Take some time to return to ballet or try something new, meet new friends and get fit for the holiday season.
